I attended this event with Hilda. It was a creative summit that was held at the Brooklyn Museum. The event lasted a whole Saturday. It started with a panel with Joanna Reign from @theunapologeticalybrownseries. Her talk was about her work and what it stands for. Her work revolves around putting up posters in guerilla style with old-fashioned wheat paste. Her posters are visual poems about women of color. She does this to raise awareness and bring about a political message. She tackles gentrification and racism. I found her work to be very inspiring. It helped me see that the best way to bring awareness to a message is to bring it to the streets and display it for everyone to see and take something away from it. After that talk, we took part in a lot of activities.

They had activities such as bookbinding, printmaking, mask making and many others. I did both the bookbinding and printmaking workshops. I was able to take home what I made. At both workshops, people of my age led the workshops and there was a production crew that recorded the whole day. I think their name was Made in Brownsville. I connected with some of the guys recording at the event since I do photography and I like to make videos. All in all, I had a lot of fun and I partook in informative and fun events
