I recently visited The Dawn of Architectural Drawing exhibit at the MET and found it incredibly inspiring, especially as someone who works in surface design. The exhibit featured geometric designs created through 3D printing, detailed drawings of Gothic architectural, and examples of naturalistic ornamentation including sculptural displays. Seeing the intricate patterns, structures, and decorative elements made me hopeful about incorporating Gothic-inspired designs into my own work in the future. If you are interested in Gothic architecture and ornamental design, this is definitely an exhibit worth exploring.
