Opening Day

This event might likely be the biggest networking event I go to this semester. Baseball is one of the biggest sports in the world with many devoted fans. Opening Day has become a tradition in MLB. I found out, it is also big in the entire office. After putting many hours into setting up opening day, the entire MLB office has a reception every year in between the later lunch hours. They set up TVs for the games, food, free ice cream and pretzel concession stands, and a desert table. Every department gets together, and the environment is very relaxed. The workload wasn’t crazy, and the reception was an opportunity to get introduced to people and get to know the other designers better.

I bonded with the other designers that I worked with personally at the reception. The other designers are Greg, Jason, Julianna, Claudia, Eric, Harris, and Gary. We got along. I especially clicked with Greg and Jason. Greg and I are the same age. Jason is cool too. We talked about the office politics, designing, where we’re from and stuff like that. We also ate a lot of food. I got ice cream of course. Greg also showed me the best toilet in the office after. I also got introduced to some of the social media people because we work together with them a lot. I felt like it was a great event and I met a lot of people. Plus I ate great baseball stadium food for free.
