For example: How do you create a readable, asymmetrically balanced poster with clear hierarchy?

This is a typographic poster with the designer’s quote: we can incorporate other elements, but the hierarchy remain on typography.

Project 2 _ Icon

Letter B as a Butterfly

The goal of this assignment is to simplify the form of a familiar object, through the process of documentation. For this reason it may be more rewarding to select a fairly commonplace object instead of a very unusual or rare one.

Is a combination by combining images with cropped letterforms.
In some variations, calling the attention to the icon.

Project 1 _ Figure Ground

Letterform

(The negative version is exactly the same as the positive, except that it uses the opposite color)

  • What was black will be white, what was white will be black.
  • The positive and negative versions MUST be exactly alike except it reverses color.

Project 4

This project, the fourth and last of the semester, was inspired by colorimetry based on primary colors.
The first step was to develop the color wheel to establish the color combination in terms of ranges.
Then, take several photos and choose one where some shapes can be seen to establish several colors.
Then, take that image and place it in Photoshop to establish a pattern and from that establish the color range from the combination of primary colors into 6 shapes.
In total we had to make 4 sketches of the image with 4 different palettes: choose 6 colors amongst Monochrome/Analogous, Primary/Secondary, Triadic, and Complementary.

Project 3

This project, the third of the semester, was inspired by the image of an animal. This project was focused on evaluating and demonstrating the different values.

My work was my cat Martina, whose first image is posterized in photoshop. Then, the point was made of several pencils with different pronunciations in terms of tones to create the look of the image.
The next step was the representation of 3 different values; and recreate my own grayscale with realistic values, one with 4-5 values, and one with 2 values (black and white).

Project 2

This project, the second of the semester, was inspired by the simple and the ambiguous.
Several sketches had to be created showing both sides, the simple and the ambiguous. Finally, two of the best ones were chosen and laid out on bristol paper as the final part.
