  • MCJROTC Marine Corps Junior Officer Training Corps
    Being part of the MCJROTC, under the instruction of SGTMAJ Garcia and 1STSGT Gallardo, was such a rewarding experience. I learned the core values the Marine Corps stands for which were Honor, Courage, and Commitment. I learned the dynamics of the uniform, being a squad leader, the value of PT (Physical Training) and more. I also gained appreciation and understanding for the men and women who serve this country.  Semper Fi.

     

    Community-Based Sickle Cell Peer Training Program at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center
    Brookdale Hospital Medical Center acknowledged my participation in the Community-Based Sickle Cell Peer Training Program. During this time, I learned the dynamics and history of the sickle cell. I created a DVD on sickle cell and was able to teach students at my high school about it. I introduced how sickle cell affects the body, medical test for diagnosis, how sickle cell can be passed through genetics and sickle cell the history.
