Through the motivation of CMCE Department’s former chancellor Prof. Cioffi, I was recruited into both the AISC Student Steel Bridge Competition and ASCE Student Concrete Canoe Competition teams; this was 2018. I was made the project manager for the Steel Bridge competition team of 2019; and, working in collaboration with other students and faculty advisor Prof. Allahverdi – to which we came 2nd place in regionals and were invited to nationals. I was also a member of the Concrete Canoe Competition team to which Prof. Guzman was the faculty advisor. I assisted in the fabrication of the concrete canoe and its staging during competition day. As a member of the student CMAA club, I am anticipating our participation in this year’s (Fall 2020) construction management competition headed by Prof. Sowder.
