I went to “Meet The Pros” on tuesday oct 18th 2016 to my first ever to a job like event, as a matter of fact it was the first time ive entered the amphitheater in CityTech. The feature speaker for the night was Patrick Grandinetti head of agency business development at Google. He started telling us that he comes from humble beginnings. He’s originally from Pennsylvania, his mother and father used to work at the Mill while years later he got his own job at a paint shop. He went to college for business however he didn’t get to finish his bachelor degree because he had called a company over the phone telling them that he had seen them on the back page of a magazine and would like to know more about their company. So he met up with them and that’s how he landed his very first professional business job. He’s a person that represents and promotes company products. So before he was Head of Agency in Google he had other jobs that ultimately led him to Google. He was also explaining that no matter how much he earns he rather be in a place he loves to be in, instead of a place he will feel uncomfortable.

He also told us that managing people isn’t an easy task, even though it’s a job that must be done. He expressed that being the boss he not only gives orders but he sometimes needs to be a mom a dad a brother and a counselor because he expressed that if you take care of the people they’ll take care of the business. Ive learned that in a way it was easier to land a job before than nowadays and that dreaming together with persistency takes you far.
