Going off the phrase itself, I tried to tie it with an event in history, the French Revolution and the decapitation of monarch King Loius XVI. The design of my poster was also influenced by the music video for the song “power”, where the quote is taken from.In the video, Kanye implies his head getting chopped off. The man seen screaming is artwork from the cover of the studio album “in the court of the crimson king” , by king crimson.This is important because Kanye sampled a song from the album to create his song “power”
I wanted to represent the weight of power by having it catapult the phrase on the other side of the scale. I used the scale of justice to emphasize the power dynamic.I used a red background as a homage to the album “My Beautiful dark Twisted Fantasy”,by Kanye West.This album contains the song “POWER”, where I got my quote from.
