I served as the department liaison to this school wide committee that is developing standards for course coordination within the school. This work is recognized as a service to the college. Course coordination is a critical activity due to the high percentage of part time faculty at our college. This effort is also tied to the college wide initiative to develop strategies to integrate General Education student learning outcomes into courses and teaching throughout the college.
On the committee I shared strategies I use to integrate Gen Ed Learning Outcomes in the courses I coordinate and train the part-time faculty to implement these strategies so that all students in the course are consistently growing their General Education skills, especially Reading.
