Work Place Culture: WK 3

Toa Heftiba

In just a few weeks, my internship has already pushed me to grow and connect with new people. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I’ve found myself reaching out more—whether it’s inviting guests to our events or introducing them to our newest timepieces. My team has been incredibly supportive, always offering guidance and encouragement. We celebrate every success, no matter how small, like the excitement of selling a luxury watch. But what stands out the most is how well we communicate and collaborate, making this experience both fulfilling and inspiring.

The culture at the boutique is professional but welcoming. Since we represent a luxury brand, the dress code is formal—everyone dresses in business or business-casual attire with an emphasis on looking polished and brand-appropriate. I usually wear a button-down shirt with dress pants and clean shoes, reflecting the high standards expected when working with high-end clientele.

The work environment itself is open and interactive. Unlike a traditional office with cubicles, the boutique is designed for customer engagement, so employees move between the sales floor, stock area, and lounge-style meeting spaces. Everyone is active and constantly communicating, whether it’s discussing new arrivals or preparing for upcoming events.

A typical workday starts around 10 a.m. and runs until the evening, depending on the shift. Lunch breaks are taken in turns so there’s always coverage on the floor, and the day is a mix of customer interaction, content creation, and prepping for boutique happenings. The fast-paced but supportive environment makes each day feel productive and rewarding.
