Hello everyone. My name is Jeannie Mathieu, and I am a registered nurse since 2012. I am currently enrolled in the BSN program expecting to graduate in May 2014. I work in a long-term care facility in Queens. From experience I can say that to work in a long-term care facility, requires an individual to have patience. The workload is sometimes insurmountable but I love working with the geriatric population. After I complete my BSN I hope to find a nursing position at a hospital to gain experience in acute care. I will most likely take a short break before I pursue my master degree. The areas that are of particular interest to me are the current trend in health care economics and the nurse’s legal accountability as society and health care changes.
