Concept- Since I am writing about my daily experiences at work in the New York Public Library, I thought I would include myself reading as well as my own take on illuminated manuscripts in reference to the “As” in the beginning of my work (Hierarchy of letters.) I see books that are illuminated quite often at work so I viewed it as personal and traditional to the manuscripts that we had studied in class while at the same time, it is something personal to me. I also thought about how one day in the future we might not have libraries or hard cover books so combining a traditional manuscript style along with me reading a hard cover book would make the “Future Viewers” interested and curious about my work and the story that pairs with it.
