2019 Greater New York Smiles Children’s Program at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center

For this great event, I had the opportunity to share with classmates with whom I would not have related much earlier. We had the opportunity to teach many middle school children the proper nutrition to have good oral health and general well-being.
The children had a very good interaction with us and with the dynamic games we made for them. We tried to maintain a good organization among ourselves and that way everything worked as planned.

Educating Elementary School Students in Caries Prevention and Proper Nutrition at St. Brigid-St. Frances Cabrini CatholicAcademy

In this project, we went to an Elementary School and we provided prevention of caries and nutritional habits education to a group of 21 children. We created a PowerPoint with many pictures and simple terms to make the education program more engaging. Also, we had a variety of plastic food where the children needed to categorized good food versus bad food. In the end, each child was given a goodie bag. This project was very heart taken because now I can see how much I’ve progressed in my education as a hygienist and how much more I can learn to always provide the best care possible.
