Teaching Philosophy

Description of Teaching Philosophy

I believe in instilling excitement in architecture through my practical professional experiences.

  • I teach so that I can bring my professional work into the context of the classroom.
  • I make each day as intriguing and unique for each student and myself through a variety of teaching methods and projects.
  • I want each student to leave my course inspired to continue their path towards being an Architect in the profession.

I find excitement in all aspects of architecture. I love to walk through a space and be surprised when I turn the corner. I love the way materials run along a wall and meet the floor.  I am amazed when I watch buildings rise from pieces of metal, concrete and wood.  I am intrigued with ancient buildings that are crumbling back to the earth. I want my student to leave my class with this enthusiasm as they enter the professional world.
