This course provided a comprehensive exploration of key global events and transformations from the 20th century to the present day. By examining pivotal moments such as World War I, World War II, the Cold War, decolonization, and the rise of global economies, I developed a strong understanding of how power dynamics and international relationships have evolved over time. A major focus of the course was understanding the social, political, and cultural impacts of industrialization, technological advancement, and globalization. We analyzed the emergence of new political ideologies, the formation and influence of international organizations, and the shifting balance of global power in an increasingly interconnected world. The course also highlighted the significance of civil rights movements, gender equality campaigns, and environmental sustainability efforts, emphasizing how grassroots activism and global cooperation have shaped modern societies. Through primary sources, case studies, and class discussions, I gained critical insight into how historical patterns and past decisions continue to influence contemporary global issues. By the end of the course, I had developed a more nuanced perspective on world history and its direct connection to today’s international challenges. This experience enhanced my ability to think critically about global interdependence and the long-term implications of political and cultural change across nations.
