Itanriqui Flores is an up and coming designer and writer based in New York City with a focus on research and exploration. She’s an artist that strives to have an expansive skill set, which includes but isn’t limited to, graphic design, animation, and illustration, as well as several traditional and manual arts. She believes that skill equates strength; that it provides the ability to work independently as well as open the door for more collaborative opportunities.
Flores studies culture and people and how they affect and are affected by design. She likes to reflect on what she observes in her work. She would like to encourage people to try to see the world a little differently; though not necessarily seeing the world through her eyes, simply to notice something they might not have before. To be a little more aware.
Matters of human rights and moral righteousness are very important to her and she believes design can have a larger part in it. She believes that it has become very easy for designers to take a backseat in these matters.
Itanriqui would like to expand her skills and artistic vision past their current level and become an artist dedicated to communication by and for the people that need it most.
