This course presents an introduction to the basic principles of digital electronics as it is applied to the field of computer engineering technology. At course termination, a student should be able to, among other things:
• Describe the fundamental concepts behind digital electronics, such as number systems, Boolean algebra, combinational logic, and sequential logic
• Perform simple digital circuit design and implement the designs using the traditional 7400 series ICs and also using programmable logic devices
• Be a proficient user of measuring instruments
