- Video Gaming, Cartoons, and Anime often appear when I draw artwork because of so much action movement, significant expressions, a massive fantasy/sci-fi-like journey imagery, and making a fanmade character design based on a character from a video game series or anime/cartoon series I adore so much on. There are times I do draw animals, food, or fashion for practice as a reference on my sketchbook for positions and geometrical shapes. When I started looking into more Realism and Surrealism in Modern Art, it was challenging to try to avoid illusions and focus on the real world while Surrealism wants you to draw real life but with a pinch of dreamy illusion imagery.
- I grew up mostly in NYC I see lots of Graffiti artwork or wall art that I see in Parkside Ave that catches my interest in more about art and visiting art museums as my school field trip definitely draws my attention more on different kinds of artists and art besides drawing or painting.
- While studying figure drawing and having to deal with anxiety about drawing realism would also help me rethink before starting to draw or color or the composition. I look back and see if I was being clear on perspective and posing. When I was told that I can look at figure references through Pinterest. I tend to get anxious on the hands and feet but still draw it anyways to improve and break out of my shell. The author’s dyslexia helps her create geometrical shapes and composition did inspire me to work more on geometrical shapes for figure studies/objects.
