“Introducing JianFei Zheng”

My pronouns are he/him. I am majoring in computer engineering technology, and when I graduate I think I’ll buy a boat and explore my passion for fishing for a while. My hobby includes fishing and cooking or just sitting on the coach with my favorite book “How the Steel Was Tempered” by Nikolai Ostrovsky.

Introducing Eduardo Berroa-Wisky

Hello everybody! My name is Eduardo Berroa-Wisky. I am currently a lower senior not too far off from pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering Technology. My interest in my major all began from childhood. I loved Hot Wheels racetracks and piecing the components altogether. Also, I loved railroad tracks spanning distances away from one location to another. When I moved to New York, I loved the sight of subway trains passing through elevated railroads above streets, even the network of commuter railroads starting from the city to span outside of the boroughs, so that was how I became interested in my major. Amid the non-stop pandemic, my chances of graduating from CityTech are inevitable but my chances of pursuing an internship are pretty complicated. My short-term goal is my hope in applying for available internships and job positions in civil engineering (soil testing and inspection, material testing, concrete testing inspection) as a starting point. Yes I have a few hobbies: food pantry volunteering, singing (not karaoke) and dancing. My favorite books are Lord of the Flies, The Catcher in the Rye, and A Raisin in the Sun. My favorite animals are Tiger, Bears, Raccoons, Owls, and Wolves. The pandemic has impacted me in terms of my academic performance. Nearly all courses (except nursing courses) are virtually online and personally, I never find virtually online courses “effective”, rather I find them extremely susceptible to distraction.

Anyways, nice to meet y’all!

Introducing Mohammed Osman

My name is Mohammed Osman, a Ghanaian who moved to the US speaking no form of English. I am studying Mechanical engineering and the reason being my love for machine, building things from scratch and my hand. I love hands on activities and likewise how I study. I ask a lot of question and very curious by nature. It’s very hard for me to stick to a particular thing so no hobbies. I am very ambitious and optimistic. I enjoy many types of music and also watch anime.

Introducing Brygetee Al-Shawkani

Currently, I am majoring in computer engineering and what sparked my interest in engineering was a class trip to an all womens college (Mills College) in middle school. The trip held workshops and during one of them we created light up bugs made of matchboxes and a battery, however it wasn’t until my second year in college until I finally declared a major. As a short term goal, once I graduate, my plan is to hopefully find a job in my field . As for a long term goal, I would like to use my influence to find a way for other young women to consider a stem major. Currently, I am enrolled in Linear Algebra as well as Calculus 2, but the last class I will need to take is Differential Equations.
