Environmental stewardship is important to the cruise industry because it is the right thing to protect the earth and it is essential to the success of the industry. The industry spread their stewardship through leadership, investing and collaborating with many organizations around the world. In environmental stewardship, the cruise industry recycle and reuses 60% more waste per person than on land. The cruise industry invested in making cleaner fuels out-take and donating used cooking oil for fuels. Lastly, the cruise industry partners with international organizations to create policies that can help stop animal trafficking, pollution and other problems that affects the environment.
