Brooklyn Bridge Assignment

Area of tourism- Adventure

Group Members- Amanda, Laura, Darlenis

Adventure tourism is being apart of an activity that is physical and learning about the cultural and historical aspect as well of that location.

Observations:

As I was walking around the Brooklyn Bridge my group and I noticed there was many activities that people can participate in. You can enjoy yourself  playing basketball, riding bikes, roller skating and simply taking the Ferry across the water to the side to see Manhattan. There is also a Ferry in the summer that you can take to see the Statue of Liberty. That’s an activity that most tourist participate in to learn about the American history. Many people can take a walk through the paths and they can see many people participating in different activities.

I have always loved how decoration was my escape and my the only thing in my mind, it had helped me focus to be patient and calm. 36 Hours In Paris

Paris had always seemed exciting to me, and this article definitely sealed the deal. I would love to travel to Paris for many reasons including the food and how pedestrian friendly the city seems. Walking aside the Seine throughout Paris would be extremely exciting in order to experience the local live music, food trucks and culture altogether. I would prefer cheaper options and stick to the street food here rather than dine at expensive restaurants. However, the article definitely inspired me to make my way to Paris.

I never had any interest to have a career in the hospitality industry. During high school, I worked as a room attendant at a hotel in Queens; I always knew I were going to have a career in the Medical field specifically in Nursing. After graduating high school, I enrolled in Medgar Evers college to obtain my Bachelors Degree in Science. Later, I quit my job as a room attendant; during, my job search for a Home Health Aide job to gain experience for my career path as a Nurse. My job search was unsuccessful; later I was hired by Star Staffing as a Room attendant working in various hotels throughout the five boroughs.

Also, I developed a passion for hotel cleaning; I enjoy working in the hospitality industry its fun, exciting and there’s a vast number of career opportunities. After taking a year from college I’ve considered changing my major from Nursing to Hospitality Management . A coworker informed me of the great Hospitality Program CityTech offers; I am thrilled to make this decision to have a career in the hospitality industry. My goal is to be a Hotel General Manager or the Director of Housekeeping.

“36 hours in Dolomite”

The NY Times article ” 36 Hours in Dolomite” Ingrid K Williiams describes her vacation in Dolomite Italy. In need of a well-deserved vacation and Dolomite Italy sounds like a fantastic vacation spot. First indulge in  the exquisite cuisine from the family owned restauarant Osteria Garsun. Secondly, enjoy the breathtaking views of Dolomite at Ristorante Mont Seuc, or just relax and interact with the locals congregated beside the river in Bruneck while enjoying “Hugo Mango.”

David Martinez-Capestany

I’m David Martinez-Capestany and I haven’t really had much career and academic experience as far as being a chef goes, but growing up and seeing my mom cook for everyone no matter what, and helping them out of any situation really influenced me and the roads I have chose to go down. My goal is to gain experience in the kitchen and also in face to face interactions. I want to be able to talk to new people no matter the circumstance just like my mother. I feel that hospitality originated from a mother’s touch and I hope that in the future my touch can stack up.
