The Carlyle hotel showed how a very traditional and classic environment can represent luxury. When you first walk in the Carlyle the lobby is full of art that shows rich history and a lot of architecture that was used in an older time. Although it had a traditional environment it had various modern elements as well such as the flower vases in the hallways and the rooms having flat screen televisions. The cafe paints this vivid picture of what it was like to dine at an earlier time of history with the classical piano and classic art that surrounds the vicinity. In addition the lighting plays a huge role in the time period feeling as well. Today we use bright led lights but in the Carlyle there are alot of dim lights that try to emphasize how the lighting was in an earlier time. Overall going to the Carlyle was a rich experience due to the juxtaposition of traditional and modern sensations that was emitted throughout the building.
