FINAL PROJECT

To complete the Multimedia Production for this semester,  your final project consists of creating a short video for one of your favorite songs of the artist you have created a website.

Guidelines:
– Your movie should be no more than 3 minutes – you may think is too little, but it is plenty when it comes to editing and doing the actual work.
– You cannot use dialog in your movie.
– Though you can use people to evoke the feelings of the song, they cannot be engaged in dialogue.

1. Select the song.
2. Sketch some ideas for your movie (think of images more than actual acting. For example, recording the sky with clouds to evoke calmness or leaves to represent a change of season, etc.  Be creative.
3. Use your cellphone and record your video clips in Horzintal Format (NOT vertical or portrait).
4. You should aim to have at least 10 clips of 1 min to 1:30 no more.  That way you will have more material to create your final video.
5. Create a folder in your desktop and download all your movie clips there.

ADOBE PREMIERE:
1. After opening Premiere, make sure you select your scratch disk.
2. Import your assets (video clips) that you recorded.
3. Create and Edit your video using the Timeline.
4. When you are ready to save, save your work in the same folder of all the assets. Save it as Adobe Premiere.
5. Use a title at the beginning (the name of the song and the singer) and closing credits at the end.
– Example:
Time Again
– Closing Credit:
Director: Your Name
Editor: Your Name
Music: title of the movie
Date: May 2022

6. Save your work and export the MP4 movie file.
7. Include your movie in your Music Website. You may have to create another page (create a folder called video and place your video file there)

TO POST:
– Create your thread with your full name – music site video
– In the message box, type the name of your favorite musician in CAPS and BOLD.
– INSERT a picture for your selected artist (800 pixels wide)
– Write a short introduction below the picture.
– Type: DOWNLOAD SITE and link it to the Local Root Folder in your Gloogle Drive your video (MP4 Format) should be in a folder called  video.

 

Homework for 05/17
MUSIC WEBSITE – Complete
Your music site should be finished. Include the following:

– 5 Music Samples edited to 1 min with Fade In and Fade Out

– Music or sound html page should include the music samples and have the animated gif banner.
You can use this code:

Animated Banner:
Create a frame by frame animated banner in Photoshop.
– 1920 pixels width x 300 pixels height for the web.
– Your animated banner should be saved as .GIF (You don’t need to have the html because you have add the gif animation to your code)

Extra: Animated Video
You can create an animated video for a song you like to feature or your favorite song from the artist you selected.
– Size 1920 x 1080 pixels for the screen.  You can adjust the size (don’t make it too small) with the code.

MUSIC SITE and CSS
– Revise your Music Site (Take into consideration the feedback and comments given on Tuesday, 04/12/2022.
– For this second version of your Music Site, you should include CSS .
– Your site can have pages that include Inline, Internal and External CSS.
– NOTE: Your external css file should be in a folder called CSS
– Check this example as a guide.
– Have your work ready to be presented. DO NOT upload anything.

MUSIC SITE
Create a website of your favorite musician

  • Sketch your ideas in your sketchbook
  • Make sure you are as clear as possible with your sketches
  • 5 pages at least + 1 page (index.html = Home Page)
  • Create a banner 1920 x 300 pixels

MIDTERM PRACTICAL

Create a poster and postcard for your favorite game.

– Determine your favorite Digital, Video or Online Game is.

– Using your sketchbook, sketch 2 ideas for your poster and postcard.

– You CANNOT use photos or other graphics that exist on the Web. You HAVE to create your own designs.

– The Poster should have: Title of the game, and a catchy caption.

– The Postcard should have: Front: Title of the game, caption and Back: Description of the game

Create the POSTER for the game.

– 8.5 x 11 inches. 1 inch margins all around. Print Resolution.

– You CANNOT use photos or other graphics that exist on the Web. You HAVE to create your work graphics using VECTOR GRAPHICS.

– Save your work and generate the PDF and JPG Web Version files.

* You should note what program to use

Create the POSTCARD for the game.

– 6 x 4 inches. 0.25 inch margins all around. Print Resolution.

– For the postcard you can outsource use a photograph that best relates to the game.

NOTE: You cannot use a photograph that is from, about or of the game.

– The Postcard has FRONT and BACK sides.

FRONT – Photo with text (title and caption of the game) with margins.

BACK – White Color should ONLY have the text: description of the game.

Save your work and generate the PDF and JPG Web Version files.

* You should note what program to use.

To SUBMIT:

Create a folder in your Google Drive and Name it with your Full Name-Midterm

Upload the Master Files.

Upload to this folder the PDF and JPG Versions of the POSTER.

Upload to this folder the PDF and JPG Versions of the POSTCARD.

OPEN LAB

Post your work in the CATEGORY: MIDTERM

– Create a thread with your Full Name – MIDTERM

– In the message box: Type the name of your game (BOLD, CAPITAL LETTERS).

– Type a description of the game – 1 paragraph.

– INSERT the JPG Web image file of the poster.

– Type: Download PDF and link ti to the PDF file of your Google Drive.

– INSERT the JPG Web FRONT image file of the postcard.

– INSERT the JPG Web BACK image file of the postcard.

– Type: Download PDF for Front and  Back and link it to the PDF files of your Google Drive.

MIDTERM EXAMINATION (Written and Practical)

The Midterm consists of 2 parts:
1st Part- Theoretical: It covers ALL readings assigned from your book, and the PDF’s of my lectures.
2nd Part – Practical: You will be required to do a poster. Instructions will be given while in session

HOMEWORK for Tues 03/29

1. Read Information posted in the Lectures section.
2. Practice: Do the W3 School lessons in HTML
3. Review my notes and practical examples. Download Folder
4. Create a Website for your favorite Sport.

Follow this guidelines:

SKETCH
– Think of your favorite sport. You will be creating a 5 page Mini Website
– Using your sketchbook, decide what type of information you’d like to have for your website, write down the names of the 4 pages for your website.

PHOTOSHOP
– Outsource the photos for your website, and save them in a folder called Master Files.
– Each page should have 2 images
– You have to use Photoshop to work with the photos and have them ready for web and size: 700 pixels width, the height can vary.
– Create a folder and name it with your first name followed by the sports site. Example: Joe Tennis Site
– In Photoshop, you should save and name your images with your name-name of the sport-(your page section)-(number of the image). Example: joe-tennis-about-01.jpg

HTML EDITOR (Use Atom or Any other HTML Editor App)

Following My Example to create the pages.  ALL pages should link.

– Create the landing page. It should include a header (H1) with the name of the Sport, and the <UL> tag list at the top.  This page should be called index.html
– Create the other pages.  each page should include information (text) and a couple of images.
Use the tag <img src=”name of the image.jp”>

POST:
You don’t need to post anything, but you have to be prepared to share your screen and show your work.

1. Read Information posted in the Lectures section.
2. Practice: Color Palette and your favorite Game Character in Photoshop.

– Create a document 8.5 x 11 inches, 300 dpi
– Make your favorite Game Character in Raster Graphics creating your own Color Palette.
– Save your file as PSD.
– Save As PDF
– Export your work as JPG for Web
– Post in the Category: PIXEL CHARACTER:
Create your thread with your full name – name of your character
In the message field, type the name of your Character in CAPITAL LETTERS and BOLD
Write a short paragraph about hour Game Character and why it is your favorite.
INSERT the JPG Image (1080 x 1080 pixels, Web Resolution / you need to work this out in Photoshop)
Below the image type: Download PDF and link it to the PDF file in your Google Drive.

HOMEWORK for Tues 03/08

1. Revise the postcard (captions, colors, and size) and post. > POST in the CATEGORY: POSTCARD REVISIONS.
2. Self portrait
– Take a selfie of yourself (portrait of yourself)
– Come up with one liner message  for  PEACE.

Note: you can think about what is happening right now in the Ukranie.

– Create a POSTER with your photograph.
– 8.5 x 11 inches, 300 dpi, CMYK (print), 1 inch margins all around.
– Use the one line message about peace in your poster.
Note: You have to determine where to place your message, the type of font, the color font and the style.
– Think of mood, colors, text (size, type, hierarchy)

SAVE:
– 2 outputs: Print (.pdf) and Screen (.jpg)
– The JPG image should be 72 dpi, 6 inches width x 4.636 inches height

POST:
– Submit to the Post > Category: PEACE MESSAGES (instructions for posting in the post category)

 

HOMEWORK for Tues 03/01

* Read: Assigned pages from the book and the lectures.

* Lab:

COUNTRY POSTCARD

1. Size 6 inches width x 4 inches height

2. Margins: 0.25 inch ALL around

3. Save your postcard as .psd (Photoshop)

4. Using the Type Tool in Photoshop, ADD the name of the country and a Online Caption. Example:
ARGENTINA
Country of Tango

Note: Think of the color font, type and where to place the Title and the Caption.

6. Save your postcard as .pdf (print) and .jpg (screen)

7. Submit your work in the category COUNTRY POSTCARD.
– Create your thread with your full name and name of the country in the Post > Category > COUNTRY POSTCARD.
– In the message box, write the name of the country. An below it write a short paragraph about the country .
– In the message box, INSERT the JPG image of the country.
– Below the image type: DOWNLOAD PDF and link it to the pdf file that you uploaded to Google Drive.
– Submit

– Outsource 2 photos of your country of origin (Make sure  they are 2000 pixels wide  in size or more )

  • Read: Multimedia Foundations (MF): Introduction and Chapter 1 (pg 3-37).
  • Update your profile in Openlab with a headshot (selfie) and a short bio about yourself. The bio could include a little about yourself: place of birth, nationality, ethnic background, where you live, your hobbies, etc., as well as professional information: your career goals, future plans, your interests.  You can also add your expectations for the class, and what you’d like to create as a project in the future.
  • Review Lecture material covered in class, and some of the Open Lab protocols we went over in class.
