Objectives

To learn the different tools one can use to avoid ESD. What to do if you don’t have the tool.

ESD only takes place when two objects that store different amounts of static electricity come in contact. The secret to avoiding ESD is to keep you and the parts of the PC you touch at the same electrical potential. Read Chapter 2 pagers 16-18.

If you don’t have access to antistatic tools, which of the following actions can you do to best help prevent ESD? Encourage students to raise hand to explain how to avoid ESD without wrist strap.
