Maybe I’m being really silly, but I can’t seem to find a way to move files in the File Manager.

I tried edit->Save As and specifying a new path but even that doesn’t work (even if it had worked, this would not have been a good solution as it wouldn’t work on folders).

Does anyone know how to use this? My file structure is getting pretty messy!

It didn’t work by renaming it with a new path?

For example, to move file.txt up one directory level, rename it ../file.txt

    To move file.txt to a sub-directory, rename it ./subdirectory/file.txt

Of course the danger here is that you move it to a directory outside the purview of the File Manager…

    Thanks Andrew–that works perfectly.
