Project Description

Organisms have an innate ability to respond to food sources and have acquired sensors which allow them to precisely sort and select nutrients based on availability and preference. Variation in genes have occurred throughout human evolution to enable optimum selection of nutrients under dynamic environmental conditions to maximize fitness. In this project our aim is to identify how the genes involved in hunger management have evolved under selective pressure in diverse environment to shape human health and disease.
