Topic: Teen Pregnancy Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about different aspects of teen pregnancy. Central Idea: To inform how media can portray teen pregnancy, risks and preventions. Intro: Hi, my Nyasha Small and today i would like to inform you on how teen pregnancy is portayed through media in today's society. the risks of becoming pregnant at a young age and to inform you on ways to prevent you from becoming a teen parent. Main Point1: Television and movies can have a great impact on you young watchers view teen pregnancy. There are a lot of shows that make teen pregnancy look normal and ok which it is not. It does not really show the struggles that you will have to go through when having a child at a young age. I have talked to you about media influence now im going to talk about risks of becoming pregnant at a young age. Main Point2: The risks of teen pregnancy can start from the very beginning. You put your baby at risk of being born premature, significant anemia and other things that can affect their development. Your future is put at risk because it becomes hard to stay in school and many young mothers drop out. I have talked about risks of teen pregnancy now i will discuss ways to prevent it. Main Point 3: Prevention of teen pregnancy is very important for everyone to know. It is important to learn about ways to protect yourself so that it does not happen to you. You do not have to be a statistic if you are careful. Conclusion: I have talked about media influence, risks, and preventions of teen pregnancy.
