Hello All,
In our first meeting we had discussed our interest in the COMAP competition and talked about the idea that we should select a group project which would submitted as our entry into this competition; however, the COMAP competition dictates the modeling problem that is to be worked on by all participating groups. The link listed below will lead you to the modeling problems of previous years ::

The problems are listed by year and by category type as indicated below ::
The Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM), an international contest for high school students and college undergraduates. ICM is an extension of the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM). It is designed to develop and advance interdisciplinary problem-solving skills as well as competence in written communication.
Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM), challenges teams of students to clarify, analyze, and propose solutions to open-ended problems. The contest attracts diverse students and faculty advisors from over 500 institutions around the world.
If nothing else, I believe that this website can provide inspiration for our group project.
