    This is one of my favorites and probably the one strategy most of us already use. I derived it from the textbook chapter outlines which are available online and basically extracted what I considered to be the most important statements. Then I removed the keywords and ask the students to use the textbook to fill in the blanks.

    I choose not to give them a list of words as I want them to have to use the textbook to find them.

    This could be given out in class during the lecture and then the students are asked to complete it at home for the next class. It would be useful as they can glance over it as you are lecturing and they may be able to find some of the words as you progress through the lecture.
