Our Places: How We Commemorate

As you walk around your places – where you live, work, go to school or visit –pay attention to how decedents have been commemorated in your locales.  Notice the many ways that we pay tribute to the deceased and take photographs of examples of how decedents have been honored in your places.  Then:

  1.  Acquire an account on the City Tech OpenLab  https://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/
  2. Post your photographs to our project blog “Our Places: How We Commemorate”. Look for the Imagine Mosaic logo to make sure you are posting in the proper blog.

For each photograph, tell us (in full sentences with proper grammar):

  1. Where you took the photograph
  2. Who is being commemorated and why they have been honored
  3. Your reflections about the commemoration

Provide links (if any) to where you found information about the decedent being honored and try to use your own words in your submissions.  Make certain to use quotation marks for any language not your own.

Submit as many photographs as you care to, creating a separate post for each submission.  Each submission that complies with the instructions will earn 5 points of extra credit added to your lowest quiz grade (for a maximum of 25 points).

PLEASE SUBMIT ONLY PHOTOGRAPHS YOU TAKE YOURSELF SO THAT WE HAVE NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENTS.
