hello professor,
problem 15-20 in chapter 1.1,do we have to draw all of the equation and find out or is there any other way?
I will leave this for you and the other students to discuss and discover. However, I will give a few hints. First, you should be able to find the equilibrium solution or solutions by studying the figure. These should correspond to precisely where y’ is 0. Second, if the coefficient of y is positive, then you have “exponential growth”; in other words, the equilibrium solution is unstable. On the other hand, if the coefficient is negative, that corresponds to “exponential decay”; in other words, the equilibrium solution is stable.
