    Midterm #2 coming up this Wednesday (April 24).

    As before, here is a matrix of review exercises. Note that all the exercises listed are among the assigned HW exercises:

    Sec #: Examples / Practice Problems / Exercises:

    Sec 1.8: 1-5 / 1 & 2 / 1-19 odd, 35
    Sec 1.9: 1-5 / the only one / 1-5 odd, 11-21 odd
    Sec 2.1: 1-8 / 1 / 1-9 odd, 27
    Sec 2.2: 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 / 1 & 2 / 1-7 odd, 21-25 odd, 29-35 odd
    Sec 2.3: 1 / 1 & 2 / 1-7 odd, 13-17 odd, 33
    Sec 2.8: 3 & 4 / 1-3 / 5-13 odd

    (For the HW for Sec 2.8, just try to do 5-13 odd for now. Since we didn’t discuss the concept of a basis of a subspace yet, we will put off those HW problems until after the exam.)

    A few 2.2 & 2.3 solutions. Did some even-numbered ones since you have answers to the odd-#s in the back of the text.

    Also note the order is a bit messed up:
    p1: Sec 2.2 #4 & #6
    p2: Sec 2.2 #7 & Sec 2.3 #34
    p3: Sec 2.3 #2, 4, 6, 8
