Project Description

his project explores light pollution, which is the excessive or misdirected use of artificial light at night. It examines how artificial lighting affects human health, wildlife, ecosystems, and the visibility of the night sky.

The goal of this project is to raise awareness about how cities like New York City use large amounts of artificial lighting that contribute to skyglow and energy waste. It also highlights real-world examples from urban and rural areas to show the difference between polluted and natural night skies.

This website includes explanations of causes, effects, and practical solutions such as shielded lighting, motion sensors, and the use of warmer-colored lights. The purpose is to show that small changes in lighting habits can significantly reduce light pollution and help restore natural darkness.
