Dear MET Opera group:
Introduction didn’t set up the important questions of the project… what you were all pursuing.
A rather large jump from 1600s to 19th century U.S.A. Would have perhaps been more effective to discuss the European scene in the 19th century that American producers were attempting to duplicate.
Nice archival photographs — credit sources on your slides
Initial drawings of architect … nice!
Great detail about acoustic friendly wood… what kind of wood is it?
Very good job sourcing the customs and rituals to the early beginnings of opera culture (extravagance, the wedding, etc.)
Tradition/conservatism = resistance to change. Good point!
Leslie: you didn’t explain how the pavilion is used for performance…. (?)
