    According to Pete Wells’ article, “At Gunter Seeger NY, a Star Chef Resurfaces, Confidence Intact,” the restaurant is a small, tranquil, relatively unadorned dining room because velvety clusters of roses sits on the bare tables; uncarpeted floors clatter with the footsteps of servers pacing back and forth and brick walls are painted white and echo with stiff formalities; however, the theme of this dining room is for guests to feel welcome at the chef’s home. The kitchen is up front for guests to see how the food is made. Mr. Seeger and his crew are on display, moving soundlessly under lights of operating-room intensity. The restaurant offers reservations, with a $100-a-person fee for cancellations within 48 hours as well as revealing the day’s menu on their website that is priced at $148 before tip and tax.

    Pete Wells stated that Mr. Seeger’s confidence is the source of both his success in the kitchen and his occasional capacity for sabotaging himself in the dining room. His insistance on following his vision does not always work to his advantage. Even if that is the case, Mr. Seeger is still able to present his deeply expressive cooking and expressive of the season because of his focused, disciplined style. Mr. Seeger knows where to find ingredients that speak far more eloquently than any server reeling off prepared talking points. Pete Wells was impressed with Mr. Seeger’s cooking; however, towards his last meal, he was disappointed on how the dish turned out.

    The restaurant seems interesting to go to and try out but personally, i would not want to dine here because of the price as well as not offering choices for the set menus. I would recommend this restaurant to people who are willing to pay for the dish with the limited options it offers.
