Course Description

This course introduces computational thinking concepts and practices. Students will understand the creative, interdisciplinary, and problem-solving nature of computing. Engaged in practical and hands-on projects, students will code computing artifacts that demonstrate real-world applications of computing. There are two main general objectives for this course. The first objective is to introduce part of the curriculum dictated by the AP-Computer Science Principles (AP-CSP) Exam . This course is the first out of three courses that aim to complete the AP-CSP curriculum framework and prepare a graduate from the STEP program to take the AP-CSP exam. The second general objective is to link the creative part of computer programming with the “A Story of ratios” curriculum for 7th grade (7th-grade math).
