Course Description

Students will read plays and essay with themes in culture, race and gender. They will write response papers, discuss the plays and essays, view and discuss films on the related topics.

In ENG 92W, our goal is to become better writers and readers. The focus will be on reading text closely, generating writing ideas, organizing ideas into well-developed essays. We will also focus on sentence structure, word choice, and grammar.

In AFR 1321, this introductory course on African American dramatic literature explores the complex ways in which the Black experience is constructed and presented by playwrights. During the semester students may have the opportunity to attend a theatrical production in New York City.
