  1. Opener: Sentence used to grab the reader’s attention and found in the beginning of the intro.
  2. Thesis Statement + Subtopics: Sentence used to indicate the main point of the essay with listed points to back up stance and located at the end of the intro.
  3. Subtopic: A smaller topic to address a much larger topic
  4. Topic Sentences: The first sentence of every body paragraph to indicate the subject in which you are elaborating about
  5. Transitional words + phrases: Words used to help a sentence run smoothly. (i.e. however, yet, but, etc.)
  6. General edits: Includes punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc.
  7. Conclusion: Paragraph used to restate points and end the essay with a clear thought.
