I really enjoy chapter 1 of “Truth & Beauty” by Ann Patchett, the way she describes Lucy, although she was sick, after multitude surgeries, she did not stop being happy.
Lucy was smart arrogant, she became more comfortable to live her life more than the average person, when Lucy move to Lowa, she was totally a different person, from a shy little girl to a very bright and happy young girl.
Her friendship with Lucy was awkward on the beginning but i was amazingly surprised the way Lucy welcome her in their new apartment with ” she was in my arms, leaping up into me,her arms locked around my neck, her legs wrapped around my waist”.
What really want to know is why Lucy was behaving so distant with her on the beginning?
