    Being born and raised
in the city that never sleeps
    New York

were working from 2a.m to 10a.m
    is not foreign to
    being a new yorker

when walking into an R train
headed to the city watching someone
playing the guitar to someone else
ranting on the phone saying that I have my own
life and you can’t control me

    New York is my home
were I am free to be who
and what I want to be

    Hi Sajida,

I love the imagery in this poem. You capture a New York moment. You were actually supposed to post this on the course site, not here. Go to “visit course site.” Then go to your “dashboard” and follow the directions to add a new post there.

    Thanks!
    Prof. Behrent
