There is a concept in writing improvement that many students may not have ever been taught about: parallelism.
We hear and use the word “parallel” often, but not in the context of an English class.
1. What does the word “parallel” mean?
2. When have you heard it or used it, i.e. in what context.
3. Do you think parallelism in writing is good or bad?
I have sent you an easy 20-minute assignment sheet today here on OpenLab in the Docs folder.
1.Parallel means side by side with the same distance between them
2.I have heard this word in math class. When there are parallel lines in a graph it indicates that these lines will not intersect
3.I think parallelism in writing is good, it helps with organization in your work.
1. Overall it means things that are either alike, aligned, or happening together
2. I have heard this word in my math class on a graph
3. using parallelism effectively can make the quality of your writing better
