I believe language is something everyone should know. Of course you’re probably wondering who doesn’t know what language is. It’s the way we communicate. We speak to each other, we express ourselves. A lot of us don’t know how to how to do that. When we are taught a language, we’re taught where it comes from; how it all started. All of that. But we are never taught how to take pride in any other language we have. The more languages we know the more people we can speak to. I speak English and Spanish. English is my first language and Spanish is my second. The reason I say this is because i spent eight hours is school for twelve years only speaking English. When i go home I speak to my mom in Spanish because there are somethings she doesn’t understand, but she taught my sister English when Spanish was all my mom knew coming here. To me language is important because it’s a way to connect with the culture.
