In last night’s debate, Senator Kamala Harris called out former Vice-President Joe Biden over his recent remarks at a fundraiser about working cooperatively with James O. Eastland and Herman E. Talmadge back when he was first in the Senate (both of these men were fiery southern racists and defenders of segregation) and also over his opposition back then to federally enforced school busing programs (integrating the city schools by requiring black and white children to travel by bus out of their own school districts). Biden got a bit incensed and flustered in his response. Here’s the video.

Is Biden still the leading contender for the Democratic nomination, or has he done himself in? Your thoughts? (I’ll add my own later.)
