Friends: The other day, when we were listing the possible Republican candidates for next year’s presidential primary, we left out this guy: Scott Walker, governor of Wisconsin. He got in as part of the Republican wave of victories back in 2010, just two years after the Obama victory. One of Walker’s first moves, with the Wisconsin legislature, was to take collective bargaining rights away from state employees. The same was going on in Ohio, with Republican John Kasich. As you see in this article on the Politico website, Walker is giving Jeb Bush a challenge while trying to woo some of Mitt Romney’s donors. And courting big-money donors is a big part of what it’s about in this early stage.

P.S. I don’t know how far he’ll get, but one of Hilary Clinton’s challengers is Martin O’Malley, former governor of Maryland.
