Image Creation –The Icon

Overview

From a series of pencil sketches, you will develop a suite of three interrelated images that can function as logos, small images such as icons and emojis. While the ultimate deliverable is a screen application, we will also print the icons on paper and compare outputs.

  • Image development — concept, design, process (analog)
  • Computer design and drawing skills, production skills (digital)

Instructions

  1. Fill in the grid with 77 ideas according to your assigned word
  2. Develop them as black-and-white renderings
  3. Further, develop them as color renderings
  4. Create 6 online icons using the template and printed deliverables

Due Date:

  • Friday, February 14th, 2025: Before class, you should have your final 6 Icons printed in PDF to present and uploaded to Openlab by 6 pm.
  • File Naming Conventions: Firstname_Lastname_Project_1_Icon
  • File Type: Upload PDF to Openlab in File Section. PNG & JPG should be upload in the Image section. (Compressed or Reduce files size to upload if need be)
