The Mexican student, the Ghanaian Immigrant and Ann Patchett face different struggles in their arrival at a final realization. Choose which one you most  relate to and explain why. This is a sophisticated question that requires at least four or five sentences for a response. Please the question to create the response.

You have written one response essay and are almost finished with your narrative. Describe what you feel are the most important differences between the two.

In “Spell World Backwards”,  the author breaks the narrative into three distinct sections, like a beginning, middle and end.  How do you perceive what the narrator does to divide these three parts?

The narratives “An Immigrant’s Silent Struggle” and “My Year of No Shopping” describe distinctly different scenarios, however, they share many characteristics.  Please consider similarities they share and discuss them here.

In paragraph 2 of An Immigrant’s Silent Struggle, Robert Kosi Tette implies that what he is wearing is very important to both him and the people who see him in Ghana. Why do you think that is?

Thank you all for your very thoughtful comments about the reading. You have each submitted interesting perspective about the importance of clothing to represent status.  Important elements of a blog response to consider are;

1) Try to make sure you use correct grammar.

2) Try to make sure that your format includes either part of the original question, or, if you are responding to one of your classmates’ blogs, you refer to the blog that your classmate has written.

3) You make sure that you express yourselves clearly so your classmates can understand your main points.
