For my social justice issue I have chosen to do the gender wage gap. This is the difference of earnings between men and women. The earning gap is consistent, but there is a wider gap for many women of color. Women of all races earn 82 cents for every one dollar men of all races make. There has been a significant growth in the women’s labor workforce. Women work longer hours and pursue a higher education to be able to work. Behind the cause of the gender wage gap range from differences in the industries and or jobs worked. Wage gap can be calculated by the difference in work hours and work experience. Discrimination is also one other factor in which women of color experience in the working field. There have been many cases in which women have worked the same amount of time and yet there is still a wage gap.

I would recommend narrowing this down further. You might focus on the wage gap in a particular field and explore the effects of that. You second question might work but you’ll have to see what comes up –here again you might want to think about how to close the wage gap in a particular industry.
