Illustrators have been faced with plagiarism for a very long time. Having their shared ideas, business and self expression stolen, and with the internet it has never been easier to do. These people use editing softwares to crop out, delete, or edit the name of the original artist and give themselves the credit. Average people aren’t the only ones who have been getting away with it but big companies have been as well, more often than the average person they get away without repercussions. Companies like Ford, Forever 21 and the main focus of this piece, Disney have stolen hours and hours of work from these artists, took their credit and monetized it. They’re ruining the business for these illustrators, taking away their voices, their ideas, and some form of their identity from them and just turned it into an opportunity to make even more money in addition to the huge amounts that they make.
