About Us

In 2021, the board members of the After School Gaming member were assembled by professor R. Richards. He challenged us, Kevin Ayala, Jelani Abraham, Ralph Jean Francois, Gary Jerome, and Nicki Dupuy to create an innovative idea/proposal. In response to that, we introduce the After School Gaming Club. It is an innovative proposal that introducing students early to computer science can help them better understand the tech and skills that go into creating something from just a simple idea. We want to help like-minded students work together to achieve a common goal through design thinking.

We provided the students with tools and software. As well as someone with expertise in game design or computer systems that is willing to stay and mentor the students through this journey. We hope to open a path for students who show interest in computers and gaming to get early hands-on experience in that field. Further, we also hope that these skills they learn from this program will look great on their portfolio or resume when applying for colleges, and scholarships after high school. It will open many doors to students as they begin to discover the different career paths they can pursue within the field of computer systems and the knowledge to back it up, building both their confidence and productivity.
