  1. in my point of view those students that were able to form their own opinions regrading political issues were able to learn the benefit of why was so important to learn the interest of civics, they were able to see what was going on with the government(political issues), learn about the importance of vote, improved critical thinking, communication skill and most importantly the were caring about their future economically. thats why its very important to have more civic knowledge and encourage our next generation the importance of civics.

    • I agree with you because getting knowledge and involving in politics will build strong communication skills ,and makes students think in critical ways.It will be easy for them to participate in public meeting other than school activities. what ever they learn about civics will stay with them for their life. thanks.

      • I agree politics is one of most important things in our country because it helps us choose our leader and it makes our government Stronger.Politics helps us learn about the government and the importance our rights, and why the rules and amendments of country are very important and how it protects us.

    • I agree, Cesar, teaching youth to come to their own conclusions and form their own opinions on topics has many benefits. I think this is especially important in civics, because each voter should hopefully be able to come to his or her own conclusion rather than being told which way to vote.

  2. I think the benefits of students being able to form their regarding political issue is getting involve in politics ,and build strong communication skills. It also makes students think in critical ways and participating in public meeting outside of school. It is clear that students who were taking civics’s classes more interested in news and political issues.

    • I agree that students can learn communication skills, critical thinking and participate in public meeting, During students form their own opinion, they can learn how to find evidences and a lot of skills to support their opinion.

    • Good point. Discussing civics can really help students with their communication skills. Any discussion can do this, of course, but civics tends to lend itself to encouraging discussions using new vocabulary and forces the speakers back up and support their arguments, both of which are excellent exercises and help immensely in the adult world.

  3. i think, it might be some disadvantages of all students in the United States taking the same civics course because some states has different political views there are two kind of laws federal and state. federal is create for all the nation and rights of every citizen. And the State law is separate from one state to another. It applies to residents and visitors of the state.
In the cases of whole country dealing all states will follow the Government politics as well. Many states have their special laws in certain things as long as it does not effect badly in the other states or the country’s main law.

    • you have a great point and i like because nobody else think in this way, but im totally agree with you federal & state laws are different in some other states, its interesting because if students are going to take civic classes they should learn laws from other states or even countries because in the future if you want to travel around you will know rights, laws , basing in all of this you will know how to behave yourself, most important how to trait people & show respect to the country or state you visiting in that moment.. we all should know every movement from the government . 🙂

      • I agree that teacher should teaches students about the major difference of state laws in each state because you don’t want to violate the laws when you traveling. The most important thing is to arm ourself with knowledges.

    • Yes, everyone may have different views about the political issues. But they can discuss together and learning more knowledge from different people.

    • I totally agree. All students shouldn’t be taking the same civics class. Every state is different from one another. They should learn the political views that their own state believes in before learning about others.

  4. Students that are able to form their own opinion regarding politics issue will benefit in politics, because this will help them understand the system of our government and how it operates. It will also teach them about them about importance voting and civic , and how it affects our country. The most important thing about them understanding politic issue is that, it will teach them how to change their government system from bad to good.

  5. I agree because getting knowledge and involving in politics will build strong communication skills ,and makes students think in critical ways.It will be easy for them to participate in public meeting other than school activities. Politics also helps us learn about the government and the importance of our rights, and how it will protects us.

    • Good point, Urii. Participating in civics at a young age encourages students to be involved in more than just civics, but perhaps to be more involved in life in general, and their experience with civics can help them in many different areas, even if politics isn’t their preferred field.

  6. Well, it has lots of benefits. In the process of forming their own opinions about politic and government, students will argue with each other from basic knowledge to critical and deep knowledge. In the mean time, they could know what they didn’t know before, and what they have mis-decided about their viewpoint, students will have intense impression on their discussion if they like. Especially, the students have interest on the social issues, they go to community to widespread their opinions by talking to other people. They will keep seeking more informations and keep tracking developed opinions. It’s a way of develop students’ quality of education.

    • This is a good point, Jingxun. How will people ever see another side of the story, change their opinion, or realize they were misguided if they do not actively participate in discussions with their peers (or even with people who are not their peers)?

  7. I think the benefit of students being able to form their own opinions regarding political issues is students will have a greater interest in politics, and improved their critical thinking and communication skills. If students being able to form their own opinions regarding political issues. That means students have to know something about political. it also can improve students civic knowledge and students’ ability to cope in the future. Of course, it can improve students have greater interest in discussing public affairs outside of school. It can also help citizens understand how to vote. So, I think people should taking a civics class and the positive discussions in the classroom, because they can get more knowledge about the Government in the classroom, and to make young citizens easier to succeed. I believe it can make people have a better life in the United States.

  8. Students who are able to form their own opinions regarding to political issues are more efficient of performing in class. If students are able to share their own opinions in class, it improves their critical thinking, leadership and communication skill. Also, it creates a learning environment to enhance class engagement and participation. Speaking of critical thinking, it’s a skill that improves and changes our tech era. Students who can think outside of box are more standout and confident, so it matters in all subjects.

  9. In my opinion I think it’s a great idea that student study civics because they will have more knowledge about politics. Also I beneficial because they will know the importance of voting and they will learn how to trust the government and people.

  10. Students should study civics to gain more knowledge about their country. Having political idea will help students to encourage and perform in an government issue. Letting students having their own opinions are always indeed. Students are the future of a country so it’s necessary for student to learn about civics.

    • I agree with you… because civic education is important for all people, but at the same time to slove political and government issue we must know more about country . because in order to continue our politics in future our young generation has to more knowledgeable about the politics and the government …

    • I agree with you… because civic education is important for all people, but at the same time to slove political and government issue we must know more about country . because in order to continue our politics in future our young generation has to more knowledgeable about the politics and the government …

  11. I think there will be lots of disadvantages of all students in the United States taking the same civics course. First of all, In United States law are vary in different states, and just civics knowledge is not well enough to solve the political and government issues. Students have to know both politics and government so they can solve the problem in future. As the United States follow two different type of law/government federal and State law it’s important to know us both of the law properly. Because State law varies in different states based on where you are located, but federal law is create for all people in this nation and its follow by everyone. Finally, as a loyal citizen we should learn our federal and state law because civic is not well enough to learn all law about our country politics and government we have to learn more each of this in order to keep our society better in future.

  12. Yes I agree that students being able to form their own opinions regarding political issues. Students can discuss their opinion during civics class, and knowing how others view to the government. Also students should have some ideas about what the government was doing and how it effect everyone in the country. Although, some might said it is a bad things for students in the United States take the civics course because some states has different political views. Yes, but knowing nothing about the political also mean that they know nothings about the country. Student can be the future of the country, they should have their own opinion regarding political issues.

  13. In my opinion, the benefit of being able to form their own opinions regarding political issues is students can learn a lot of skills such as communicating, interviewing people, doing survey research, identifying public policy problem, developing their own proposed solution political action plans, and trying to have an impact on political.

    • I agree with you, because students can really learn a lot of skills in their own opinions regarding political issues. They can enhance their ability to communicate. And developing their own proposed solution political action plans. Maybe it also can contribute to help the government become better. I think they can better to understand political and make them better to succeed in the future.

    • i surly agree with you.there is a lot of benefits for students being able to form their opinions regarding political issues which include being more efficient in our society , knowing their rights for voting and their duty and being more knowledgeable about civics and current events . that will help our community to be more advanced . and we should care more about schools in rural and poor neighborhoods which need a lot of concern about being educated in civics …

  14. sorry about mistyping i want to say surely not surly

  15. Having a knowlege and involving in politics which is great advange of build a strong communication skill meet new peoples and the benefit of creating a new genrations for the futures! Which can learn more about your neighbor needs.
